Introduced in 1982, the R series replaced the S series cues. These improved designs would be the basis for Schon cues for many years to come. The "stitch" ring design was standard until 1985 and nickle-silver were optional. Nickel-silver becasme standard after 1985 while stitch rings were still available on special order. Even today, Schon shafts may be ordered with stitch rings.
