Model H, 2nd Catalog
This is a very  hard to find and very original Palmer Model H. This cue also combines features from the first catalog Model 2.  It was purchased (with receipt) from Weist sporting Goods in West Reading, Pennsylvania, in 1968. It was special order and took about 6 weeks to arrive. It was played for a few years, then put away for over 30 years.  It is completely original and with the exception of a few use marks here and there, is just like new.

This Model H has beautiful ebony points and classic Palmer veneers. The beveled butt sleeve is what sets this cue apart, with mother of pearl on ebony and veneers matching the forearm.  Most Model H cues came with black pearl collars, but this one has standard pearl to match the bevel, a custom touch modeled after the 1st catalog Model 2. The other features which are from earlier cues are the longer wood shaft pilot and the allen-head weight bolt.  These are commonly 1st  catalog cue features.

The case that came with it is one of the seldom seen first catalog cases used in the photo, with a wide latch lock . These locks were used for a few years, and this one came with a key.

I instantly fell in love with this cue. It is one of the finest cues in my collection and I am proud to own it.
